CASTOR ET POLLUX by Rameau
"With a chorus of 30, the 21-member Aradia Ensemble directed by Kevin Mallon and, above all, four principals in excellent voice on stage, the Jane Mallett Theatre throbbed with intensity amid remarkable displays of eloquence at yesterday's performance,
the second of two."

a spoof based on mozart's one-act satire.

The opera company is in turmoil. The impresario refuses to announce the coming season and seeks the intervention of the public. The impresario is under much pressure to cast his singers but threatens to hold auditions to the dismay of the divas and divos not in agreement with such plan. Even the choristers are upset. The competitiveness is in high gear and threatening to derail the artistic process. In the meantime, music must be rehearsed, patrons must be alerted and sponsors must be convinced that the programing and vision for the company is effective and attractive. Only the music itself can save the day.
