"Toronto's ever-adventurous
Opera in Concert brought Gluck's rarely heard final opera to the University of
Toronto for a single performance on Sunday afternoon. The capacity crowd was
beautifully behaved (no talking, humming, beating time, snoring, beeping
watches or cell phones). Even a brief backward glance was the only admonition
necessary to stop a woman from unwrapping candy during a quiet passage."

expectations, and I was grieved to learn that overhead microphones were taping
the performance for archival purposes only and not for future radio
broadcast."
