Dear Opera
in Concert Patrons, Welcome to
Opera in Concert’s 34th Season! Opera
continues its triumphant progress, becoming the fastest growing of the
performing arts. Opera in Concert joins that trend with great approval from
our public, increased attendance from new friends confirming an extraordinary
response to our outstanding Canadian artists and our operatic ‘rarities in
performance’. Better still, many have dared step into a our realm of rare and
innovative programming newly enhanced by our dramatic interpretations, the
use of surtitles sponsored by Sun Life Financial and the immediacy of our
home venue, completely renovated for your enjoyment and comfort. I am
tempting you to take a chance, bring a friend and lead a dangerous life in
the company of other daring theatre-goers. You’d better sit down for this
one! And once you are seated, the ravishing music, the exquisite singing, the
unadorned presentation will spirit you away for a fantastic journey. Opera in
